The signature baritone and lyrical dexterity of Cardiff’s premier emcee Skunkadelic is instantly recognisable amidst the ever fertile soundscape of UK Hip-Hop.
Aside from solo work, Skunkadelic has a resident post at the helm of 9-piece monster funk collective Afro Cluster and has written, recorded and toured extensively with the group over the last decade.

Remarkable Rhythm
Rhythm is spontaneous and experiences life as movement; and all sound as music. Glas loves life smooth and stable; and prefers things to remain the same. When Rhythm and Glas meet at Bellevue park they have the five days of half-term to see if their friendship is worth keeping once they go back to their separate schools. Through music and movement and mishap these two young people experience the difficulty and joy in connecting with those unlike themselves.
In creating the music for the theatre show Remarkable Rhythm, Myself and Skunkadelic were entrusted with transforming a foundational idea into a vivid sonic experience. Given a simple storyline and a single heartbeat recording as the starting point, we began to craft a long-form musical piece. Drawing from our diverse musical backgrounds and a shared passion for storytelling, we wove together rhythmic textures, emotive melodies, and dynamic soundscapes to complement the narrative and elevate the performance.
During lockdown, Myself and Skunkadelic collaborated on the track Tied Up, featured on the Mr. Dangerous EP and released as a single ahead of the full project.
I produced the beat, while Skunkadelic contributed his verse. The music video, inspired by Spike Jonze’s iconic work on The Pharcyde’s The Drop, posed a unique creative challenge: I had to learn my lyrics backward, performing them while walking forward so that, when reversed, the footage appeared as though I was walking backward with perfectly synced vocals.
The project, developed in collaboration with Skunkadelic and with video recording and editing by Magugu, served as both an homage to Jonze’s vision and a testament to our innovative artistry.
